Our 365-Day Support Subscription is now included for free with Surveillance & Security System installs for the first year and continues for ongoing systems with annual service. For new customers interested in this support, they can purchase the subscription separately.

Kestrel Viewer is a versatile video management software for the DVRs, NVRs, IP cameras, etc. It provides multiple functionalities, including real-time live view, video recording, remote search and playback, file backup, etc., for the connected devices to meet the needs of monitoring tasks.

Getting Your Recorder Details

Once your unit is on the local network you will need to get the information required to add the unit to your app.

  1. Once the unit had booted Right Click and select Main Menu.
  2. Under the Network category choose P2P
  3. Ensure this is enabled and you will see your QR Code. Cloud ID.
Pairing Your Device

Once the D/NVR is set up you can then add the device to your phone

  1. Open the Kestrel Viewer app and select Local Login
  2. Go to the  button in the top left , you will need to select Devices, you will then need to press the  icon to add a device and select Manual Adding, You will need to enter your devices Username and Password and give a Device Name (This is for reference and can be anything). You will then need to enter either the Cloud ID from the P2P page or press the   icon to scan the QR code from this page. Press the   icon to save.
  3. Your device will now show in your device list.
Live Viewing Your Cameras

You can now begin to view live video from your app!

  1. Press the   button in the top right again and select Live View
  2. Press the   icon in the top right corner and select your D/NVR and select which cameras you would like to view.
  3. You can select the number of cameras you would like to view at one time with the option below the video wall (the more cameras your view the better internet connection you will require)
Playing Back Recording

You can review recorded footage on your D/NVR from the app as well as live images.

  1. Swipe right along the bottom tool bar to bring up further options and select  the icon to view playback for that camera.
  2. You can scroll along the time bar to choose your time and can change the date by pressing the date above the time bar.
Download The DMSS App

The DMSS app can enhance your security management efficiency. You can watch real-time surveillance videos and play them back anytime, anywhere, via Wi-Fi or cellular networks. If a device alarm is triggered, DMSS will immediately push an instant notification to you.

  2. Select the Network tab at the bottom of the screen, and choose P2P from the left menu.
  3. Ensure this is enabled and you will see your QR Code. Cloud ID.
Pairing Your Device

Once the D/NVR is set up you can then add the device to your phone

  1. Open the DMSS app and swipe through the next few screens.
  2. Find your country and tap Done.
  3. Go to the + button in the top right, select SN/Scan.
  4. You can either use your device camera and scan the QR code on the screen, or tap Manually Enter SN at the bottom.
  5. Select what device you are adding (NVR, DVR/XVR, Wired Camera etc.)
  6. Give a Device Name (This is for reference and can be anything)
  7. Enter your device Username and Password and tap Save.
  8. Your device will now show in your device list.
